Sketchbooking and Mindfulness
Date and location
to be announced
The how and why of
sketchbook art. Track your experiences in a 2-dimensional sketchbook format.
Your unique vision is worth recording. Sketch in black pen and later add
watercolor to flesh out the detail. You can incorporate interesting
ephemera (ticket stubs, maps, matchbooks and so on) to add bits of detail to
your art.
Previous art experience is not needed in order
to benefit from this arts, healing, and creativity program—these workshops are
designed for all ranges of artistic experience--you need not consider yourself
an "artist" to
attend.

Message in a Bottle
Date and location to be
announced
I learned about this approach
from California art therapist Lisa Mitchell. She generously provided the
directive for using plastic bottles as a vehicle for art. Think of the metaphors
related to bottles, such as “bottling things up” or “message in a bottle,” or
“sending out an SOS.” Using paint, glue, magazines, paper, and junk, we
will use recyclable bottles as vehicles for the metaphor of our choice.
All you do is paint or glue stuff on the outside, and then put stuff on the
inside.
It sounds simple and it is! But it is hugely powerful. Join us
for this workshop.
