About Susan Boyes, MA, ATR-BC, LPC
Practice
Description
I provide
Counseling and Art Therapy services to help clients get through a life
transition that is causing interruption.
Incorporating creative expression as a treatment process:
I
also support other counselors to expand their depth and to manage secondary
trauma. Creating a simple art project can produce unexpected insight. My
personal philosophy is that when we make art our inner creativity is
activated and can heal us in surprising ways.

I
earned my Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from
Since 1996 I have helped people that have either genetic or
acquired disabilities (children, adults and collateral family members). In
addition, I help people navigate medical trauma, grief and loss, relationship
issues, and parenting. I
specialize in helping people that have experienced Traumatic Brain Injury.
Realizing the
importance of visual expression for creative and mental health, Susan makes time
to produce and enjoy personal art despite her busy schedule. Susan is a
gifted ceramic artist whose work has been exhibited around the world and is in
international collections.
Today Susan creates art in watercolor, acrylic, photography, digital media and collage/mixed media. Her interest is in geography, nature, pattern, archeology, dream and abstract visual imagery.
